Click on the “Set Up uKnowKids Now” button to automatically log in to uKnowKids and get started.

If you have already logged into the uKnowKids Dashboard, you skip to Step 3 below. 

First, you click on the following URL and then click on the “Add a Child” button to create a new child profile and connect that child profile with your child’s mobile data sources.

Review “Welcome” message and then click on the “Continue” button.

Create a Child Profile for your child.

If you need to monitor an Apple mobile device, click on the “Apple iPhone, iPad or iPod” radio button.

Click on the “Save & Continue” button to proceed to next step.

Choose your preferred method for syncing your child’s Apple mobile device data with uKnowKids.

We highly recommend the new Apple iTunes / local backup method (using the uKnowKids RELAY / asrelay application) as it eliminates the inevitable disruptions that can occur due to Apple’s regular and unpredictable iCloud system changes.

Gather the specific items you will need to successfully connect your child’s Apple mobile device data to uKnowKids.

When ready, click on the “I Am Ready” button to make the data connection.

First, confirm that iTunes is installed on a local computer in your home if you are using a Windows PC or an Apple Mac computer (pre-Catalina macOS).

If you are using an Apple Mac computer using Catalina macOS, there is no need for the iTunes software.

Second, confirm that there is an up-to-date backup of your child’s Apple mobile device with iTunes (Windows PC or pre-Catalina Mac computers) or with the Mac Finder application (Mac computers running on Catalina or later).

Third, install the uKnowKids RELAY / asrelay application on your host computer. Click on the link for instructions and to download the application. Step 7 below includes instructions on how to do that.

When you get to the download page, click on the download link for either the Apple Mac or Windows PC version of uKnowKids RELAY / asrelay application depending on the type of host computer you will be using with your local backups (via iTunes or Mac Finder apps).

Once downloaded, double-click on the downloaded uKnowKids Relay app file, to start the installation process on your host computer.

If your host computer is an Apple Mac, please go to Step 8 below.

If your host computer is a Windows PC, please go to Step 20 below.

Apple Mac Computer Instructions

If your host computer is an Apple Mac, drag the uKnowKids RELAY / asrelay application icon into the Applications folder.

Go to your Applications folder, and then double-click on the uKnowKids RELAY / asrelay application icon to open up uKnowKids RELAY / asrelay application.

On recent versions of the macOS operating system, you must explicitly provide the uKnowKids RELAY / asrelay application with permission to access your iTunes backup files.

Click on the “System Preferences” link to provide uKnowKids RELAY / asrelay application with the proper permissions.

Click on the Lock icon to unlock Security & Privacy screen of your host computer’s System Preferences.

Enter your host computer’s User Name and Password.

Click on the Plus sign icon.

Once you have added the uKnowKids RELAY / asrelay application, choose the “Quit Now” button. This will close the uKnowKids RELAY / asrelay application on your host computer.

Go back to the Applications folder and double-click on the uKnowKids RELAY / asrelay application icon to re-open the uKnowKids RELAY / asrelay application so that it is running in the background on your host computer.

Copy the Pairing Code displayed within the uKnowKids RELAY / asrelay application, so that we can use this information to pair your child’s mobile device data with your child’s profile within the uKnowKids system.

Enter the Pairing Code displayed within the uKnowKids RELAY / asrelay application into the Child Setup screen’s Pairing Code form field in order to authenticate your connection to the uKnowKids system.

Then, click on the “Submit Pairing Code” button to continue.

Confirm that your child’s Apple mobile device has a current local backup completed with iTunes or Mac Finder app.

PLEASE BE PATIENT. So long as there is a new local backup completed and the uKnowKids RELAY / asrelay app software is actively running in the background on your computer, you will see new data in the uKnowKids Dashboard within 60-120 minutes as it takes time for that data to synchronize with uKnowKids and to be analyzed by our systems.

Proceed through the remainder of the Child Setup Process by connecting your child’s social network accounts to uKnowKids.

Windows PC Computer Instructions

After downloading the uKnowKids RELAY / asrelay application to your local host computer, go to the your Downloads folder and double-click on the uKnowKids Relay / asrelay application icon to open the uKnowKids RELAY / asrelay application and complete the installation process.

Copy the Pairing Code displayed within the uKnowKids RELAY / asrelay application, so that we can use this information to pair your child’s mobile device data with your child’s profile within the uKnowKids system.  You may first need to double click on the uKnowKids RELAY / asrelay application icon on the desktop if it does not auto-launch.

Enter the Pairing Code displayed within the uKnowKids RELAY / asrelay application into the Child Setup screen’s Pairing Code form field in order to authenticate your connection to the uKnowKids system.

Then, click on the “Submit Pairing Code” button to continue.

Confirm that your child’s Apple mobile device has a current backup completed within iTunes.

You are finished connecting your child’s Apple mobile device data to uKnowKids.

Proceed through the remainder of the Child Setup Process by connecting your child’s social network accounts to uKnowKids.
